Nicos Trypatsas has been appointed as Acting General Manager of the Cyprus Stock Exchange, since May 2017, in accordance with a relevant decision by the Council of Ministers of the Republic. Before this, he used to hold the position of the Chief Officer of the Organisation.
He was recruited at the Cyprus Stock Exchange, in 1994, as the first employee. Since then, he was involved in and he was in charge of, a number of new projects for the business development of the CSE (automation – dematerialization of securities, establishment of a central registry /depository, new markets services and products, electronic trading on a remote basis, legislative and regulatory issues, amendments/ additions, listing and trading issues and introduction of new indices, promotional activities of CSE, development of international co-operation of the CSE, administration issues, issues related to the Energy Sector, the privatisation process of the CSE, etc.). He has extensive experience regarding various issues of the Exchange and the securities market in general.
Nicos is also a Director at the European Central Securities Depositories Association (ECSDA) representing the CSE as a full member of this Organisation.
He holds a B.Sc. in Business Administration from the Athens Economics University (ASOEE) and an MBA, from Stirling University, in Scotland.
