Mikkel Sørensen is the founding director of DTU Skylab – the innovation hub of the Technical University of Denmark. Mikkel holds an Executive MBA from DTU, a master’s degree in Modern Culture from the University of Copenhagen, as well as a master’s degree from the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen. Over the past 10 years, Mikkel has led the establishment, development, and scaling of DTU Skylab from a small pilot initiative to its current stage as an award-winning and internationally leading innovation environment with approximately 60 employees and 5,000+ square meters of innovation infrastructure. Each year, DTU Skylab supports over 300 startup projects from DTU’s staff and students and engages in innovation collaborations with existing companies, along with educational activities. Skylab is also a close partner to Cyprus Seeds and active in PHAETHON Centre of Excellence. Prior to his current role, Mikkel was the National Manager at Venture Cup Denmark. Mikkel is also a co- founder of Stormglas, an active investor, and serves on several boards.
