Eleni is the Director General of the Cyprus Land Development Corporation, whose primary function is to provide housing solutions to people of moderate and lower income. Eleni read law at the University of Bristol (UK) and was called to the English Bar by the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple in 2001, after successful completion of the Bar Vocational Course. Her diverse professional career has crossed the unspoken invisible line dividing the corporate world and the public sector more than once, thereby allowing her to gain useful insight into the workings and mentality of both. As a senior associate of a major Cyprus law firm, Eleni regularly advised international banks in bilateral and syndicated financing transactions, loan restructurings and cross-border financing, before accepting the role of Chief Legal Officer (CLO) of an international group of companies with business interests in software development and support, real estate (residential, commercial) and the financial sector. In 2021 Eleni joined the Cyprus Land Development Corporation and hopes to reshape its future so as to transform it into a major contributor to the government’s efforts to combat the housing crisis.
