Alex is a computer scientist turned entrepreneur who founded TROUVA in 2013, a leading platform for discovering and shopping independent boutiques and brands across Europe. Initially focusing on building out the technology and product, Alex went on to take over operations and eventually became the CEO of the company in 2019. Under his leadership, TROUVA grew to over 1,000 shops across 13 countries in Europe and served customers in over 40 countries worldwide. Alex raised over $35m from prestigious global VCs including Index Ventures, Octopus Ventures and Locaglobe throughout his journey at Trouva. In 2022, the MADE Group acquired TROUVA in a move to further expand its presence in the premium lifestyle space. Alex’s entrepreneurial talent was recognized by the media, including being the first cypriot named in the US & European Forbes “30 Under 30” list in 2017 and selected for the Sunday Times’ Maserati 100 list in 2018, which recognizes innovative entrepreneurs in the evolving retail and tech landscape. Alex is also a member of the inaugural Entrepreneur First cohort and was invited to join the prestigious European Young Leaders program in 2019. He has taken on advisory roles at various groups, including Pennies, a leading charity that works to protect and grow micro-donations and Airstreet Capital. Alex’s expertise in technology and entrepreneurship has led him to speak on various platforms, including Sky News, CNBC, BBC News, and Websummit. He frequently discusses technology’s role in transforming the high street, company and team-building and is committed to making Europe a global champion for a better world.
